Derek Johnson joined Drive Thru Editorial in 2008. He has worked on commercial projects for brands such as Best Buy, FedEx and Target, among others. Derek started his career almost 12 years ago with a job in the duplication department. He quickly learned creative editing skills in Final Cut Pro and was soon given his own edit suite. As Derek continued to develop his skill set, he made the transition to SMOKE artist, a job that he has performed for the last five years. Derek has worked with ad agencies big and small, including BBDO, Carmichael Lynch and Fallon, and on projects shot by Academy Award-nominee DP Wally Pfister.
