BMW Films Returns for 15th Anniversary with ‘The Escape’

28 Sep BMW Films Returns for 15th Anniversary with ‘The Escape’

BMW FilmsYou may have heard that the ground-breaking BMW Films are finally coming back on October 23rd with an all new film called “The Escape” starring Clive Owen, Jon Bernthal, Dakota Fanning and Vera Farmiga. As with the original films, there’s a strong local connection. To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the films – which were created by Fallon – BMW commissioned former Fallon executives Bruce Bildsten, David Carter and Brian DiLorenzo to bring the new film and all the surrounding content to life. The trio took a leave from their “day jobs” and put together a lean group of producers, designers, strategists and writers under the name Geisel Productions and worked hand-in-hand with BMW to make it all happen. Besides the fact that Bildsten and Carter still live in Minneapolis, there was another local connection. Geisel asked Drive Thru Productions to produce all of the Behind The Scenes content. Drive Thru director Patrick Pierson and crew travelled to Toronto in June and July to document the massive production. Upon their return, Pierson and Drive Thru not only edited and finished the content, but also were a major contributor to the title design. The film itself was directed by Academy Award nominee Neill Blomkamp and produced by Anonymous Content with Academy Award winner Steve Golin acting as Executive Producer.
